This is a 40 × 30 in single-run woodcut relief print (variable edition of 8) printed on Stonehenge paper. The map projection used is based on the Hobo-Dyer cylindrical equal-area projection. This piece flips the continents upside down and turns the world into a thriving underwater ecosystem. I hope to encourage viewers to see the world with a fresh perspective.
The giant wood matrix I hand-carved! I lost track of the exact count, but the carving took well over 30 hours.
