I participated in Visible's Design Equity Tournament to design a logo in a day for Portland in Color, a local organization working to disrupt the homogeneity of representation in Portland arts and media by highlighting the voices and experiences of people of color.

The project brief stated that "The final brand should reflect their work, and provide a glimpse into this underrepresented group of talented creative professionals." Inspirational brand keywords that were provided: Thoughtful, Inclusive, Editorial, Edgy, Important, Striking.
The final two logo concepts I submitted both use a variety of shapes and different colors as metaphors for diverse creative people. The shapes also loosely spell out the acronym "PiC" for Portland in Color. The modern geometric shapes make these designs edgy while the bright saturated colors are warm and energizing.
